   Determining the overall performance of SSD mainly depends on three aspects: controller, flash (NAND FLASH) and interface.

   The hard disk interface is the connection between the hard disk and the host system. It is used to transfer data between the hard disk cache and the host memory. Different hard disk interfaces determine the connection speed between the hard disk and the computer. In the whole system, the advantages and disadvantages of the hard disk interface directly affect the running speed of the program and the performance of the system. In order to have faster read and write speeds and a better experience, the SSD interface has evolved in the revolutionary wave. At present, the main SSD interfaces in the market include SATA, mSATA, M.2, SATA Express, PCI-E and U.2.

   The SATA interface is the most widely used hard disk interface in the market, with strong compatibility and high popularity. From the initial SATA1.0 to SATA3.0 (SATAIII), the theoretical transmission bandwidth is 6Gbps. Except for the loss during transmission, the actual maximum read/write speed can reach 550MB/s. The 2.5' series of the Swiss S600, S300PRO, and S300 all use the SATAIII interface, which has stable performance and fast operation.

   mSATA is a scaled-down version of SATA that provides the same speed and reliability as the SATA interface standard. Due to the size limitations of mSATA, its maximum achievable capacity is slightly inferior to 2.5-inch SSD. mSATA is mainly used in some thin and light notebook and industrial markets. This interface is used by the Swiss R600mSATA.

   The M.2 interface, formerly known as NGFF, is Intel's next-generation interface standard tailored for the next generation of Ultrabooks to replace mSATA. Whether it is a smaller size or higher transmission performance, M.2 is far better than mSATA. At the same time, due to the further advancement of Intel, many desktop boards have their own M.2 interface, which makes the M.2 SSD more widely used. M.2 size contains: 2242, 2260, 2280 three specifications, divided into different lengths. The longer the length, the more flash particles there are and the larger the capacity. The current R600 has two sizes of 2242 and 2280, which can meet different usage requirements.

   Due to the speed limitations of the SATA interface, SSDs using the PCIe interface have emerged to meet higher transmission speeds and lower data latency. PCIe is a high-speed serial point-to-point high-bandwidth transmission, and its main advantage is the high data transmission rate. In conjunction with the NVMe interface protocol standard for SSDs, the performance of SSDs has made a qualitative leap. According to the mainstream PCIe 3.0 x4 configuration, the theoretical maximum read/write speed can reach 3000MB/s or more. The company is about to launch a new SSD R900 and R950 with PCIe interface and NVMe interface protocol. High-end customization allows players to have the ultimate experience, so stay tuned.
